What is Rhinoplasty?
Rhinoplasty, commonly referred to as a “nose job,” is a surgical procedure designed to reshape or resize the nose to improve its appearance and function. This procedure can address aesthetic concerns, such as nasal asymmetry or a prominent bump, as well as functional issues, such as breathing difficulties due to structural abnormalities.
What applications is this used for?
- Aesthetic Enhancement: Many individuals seek rhinoplasty to improve the appearance of their nose, whether by refining its shape, reducing its size, or correcting imperfections.
- Functional Improvement: Rhinoplasty can address breathing difficulties caused by structural issues such as a deviated septum or nasal valve collapse.
- Injury or Trauma: Some individuals undergo rhinoplasty to repair the nose after an injury or trauma that has altered its appearance or function.
- Congenital Defects: Rhinoplasty can correct congenital nasal abnormalities, helping to improve both appearance and function.
The Procedure
- Consultation: Your journey begins with a comprehensive consultation with Mr Jeevan. During this session, you’ll discuss your goals, medical history, and any questions or concerns you may have about the procedure.
- Planning: Mr Jeevan will perform a detailed assessment of your nasal structure and facial features. Using advanced imaging techniques, you will be able to visualize potential outcomes and collaborate on the best approach to achieve your desired results.
- Anesthesia: Rhinoplasty is typically performed under general anesthesia or local anesthesia with sedation, ensuring your comfort and safety during the procedure.
- Incisions: There are two primary techniques for rhinoplasty:
- Open Rhinoplasty: Involves a small incision across the columella (the tissue between the nostrils), allowing for greater visibility and access to the nasal structures.
- Closed Rhinoplasty: All incisions are made inside the nostrils, resulting in no visible scarring and a slightly shorter recovery time.
- Reshaping the Nose: Depending on your goals, the surgeon may remove or add bone and cartilage, straighten the septum, adjust the nasal tip, and correct any asymmetries. Techniques may include grafts or implants to achieve the desired shape and function.
- Closing Incisions: Once the desired changes are made, the incisions are closed with sutures. In the case of an open rhinoplasty, the small external incision is also closed with sutures.
- Recovery: After the surgery, your nose will be splinted to support the new structure and minimize swelling. Nasal packing may be used to support the septum and control bleeding.
What results can i expect ?
- Improved Appearance: Rhinoplasty can enhance the harmony of your facial features by refining the shape and size of your nose.
- Better Function: For those with breathing issues, rhinoplasty can significantly improve nasal airflow and overall respiratory function.
- Enhanced Confidence: Many patients experience a boost in self-esteem and confidence following rhinoplasty, feeling more comfortable and satisfied with their appearance.
What is the recovery time ?
- Initial Recovery (1-2 Weeks): Expect some swelling, bruising, and discomfort, particularly around the eyes and nose. Most patients can return to non-strenuous work and activities within 1-2 weeks.
- Intermediate Recovery (3-6 Weeks): Swelling and bruising will gradually subside. You can resume light activities and exercise, but avoid any activities that might impact the nose.
- Long-Term Recovery (6 Weeks and Beyond): Most of the visible swelling will diminish within 6-8 weeks, but it may take up to a year for all swelling to resolve and for the final shape of your nose to become apparent.

Perfect end result...
I recently had a breast augmentation with Mr Jeevan and it’s been the best decision I ever made. The end result is perfect and has give me some much needed confidence. Now let’s start with Mr Jeevan himself, he has been amazing throughout my Journey. From start to finish he really couldn’t do enough. From the very first consultation, he advised me on sizing, procedure and give me some much needed reassurance (I was a very nervous and squeamish patient). He has been very professional, approachable and accommodating
